Cosmopolitan shopping on Avenyn

Kungsportsavenyn, known locally as Avenyn, is Gothenburg’s main boulevard for shopping and entertainment. Along this boulevard and in the adjacent blocks shoppers can find exclusive fashion boutiques and select flagship stores.

Avenyn extends from the grand Götaplatsen to Kungsport Bridge, by the Moat (Vallgraven). The boulevard is lined with lots of friendly cafés, renowned restaurants and popular bars. In summer, Avenyn becomes especially lively as the pavements are filled with sunny terrace bars and strolling holidaymakers.

If you enjoy shopping, you can find just about everything you need and a little more on Avenyn and its side streets. Flagship stores for Fred Perry, Villeroy&Boch and Laura Ashley rub shoulders with a wide selection of top fashion chain stores. On the side streets are elegant fashion boutiques, selected vintage shops, shopping arcades and trendy neighbourhood restaurants.

Just a stone’s throw from Avenyn, along Södra Vägen, you will find good shopping with a mix of individual interior design stores and shops offering unique and exciting designer brands.

It’s also well worth fitting in a visit to one of the museum shops at Gothenburg Museum of Art or the Röhsska Museum of Fashion, Design and Decorative Arts. They sell design items, art books and attractive gifts for all the family.
