Universeum is a science centre for the whole family. Seven floors with animals, experiments and challenges are waiting to give you an experience beyond the ordinary. The aquariums are some of the largest in Europe and you also find exciting exhibitions and an indoor rainforest – right in the middle of Gothenburg!
In the rainforest the animals move around freely. Go on a safari and get up close to birds, butterflies, lizards, sloths and monkeys. The ocean tank is home to eight different kinds of shark, the largest one being the sand tiger shark. You can also see morays, octopus and saw fish swim by and in the ray tank you see the rays. If they swim to the surface you can even touch and feel their sandpaper-like skin.
At Universeum you can also build your own superhero and try the super powers of nature, by competing against a cockroach for example. In the space exhibition you can travel to the space station ISS and jump on the moon. In the Crime Lab you can learn more about criminal investigations and check if you are a good witness.
One of the new additions this year is an underground exhibition. Universeum has turned the clock around and you enter the darkness to meet animals living in caves and under the ground.
Universeum Science Discovery Centre has two stars in the Michelin Green Guide.
