Explore Gothenburg by bike. You can rent a bike for free, 30 minutes at a time. There are 60 bicycle stations in the city centre and you can start riding the bicycle as soon as you have activated your account.
If you want to keep using the bike after 30 minutes you will have to return the bike at a station and get a new one. If the bike is used for more than 30 minutes continuously, a fee of SEK 10 be charged for the following 30 minutes. You will be charged SEK 20 for the next 30 minutes, followed by SEK 40 per every 30 minutes after that. If you use the bike for longer than 30 minutes, the money will be collected from your deposit.

A 3-day pass for Styr & Ställ’s rental bikes is included in the Gothenburg City Card. It is activated with the assistance of your Gothenburg City Card and a debit-/credit card. You need to have a VISA or MasterCard with a chip and PIN-code. If your card does not have a chip and/or PIN-code or if you have an American Express, Maestro or Visa Electron card, then you cannot use the rental bikes. Note, a deposit of SEK 140 is reserved on your card.

The first time you rent a bike, you need to go through step 1, then it is enough to go straight to step 2.

1. To activate the account you need to go to a bicycle station with a credit card terminal. At the terminal, choose button 2 -Buy card/activate City Card. Follow the instructions on the screen and have your account / credit card ready. You will receive a ticket where your account number is stated. It is important that you keep the ticket throughout the rental period in case a problem occurs. Every time you rent a bike you need to enter the account number and the 4 digit code you have chosen.

2. If you already have activated your account as stated above, select button 1 -I have a 3 day card or an activated Gothenburg City Card. Follow the instructions on the screen and have the account number and 4-digit code at hand.
