Bältespännarparken is a small park opposite the building, Stora Teatern, on the main boulevard Avenyn, in central Gothenburg. A fountain was installed in the centre of the park in the 1980s and in the winter this is used as an artificially frozen ice rink.
The park got its name from Johan Peter Molin's sculpture 'Bältespännarna', which was placed in the park in 1914. The piece displays a knife fight between two men bound with one belt. A description of the fight is given on the sculpture's plinth: they are fighting over a woman.
