  • What can I do on a rainy day?

The sky opens up and the rain pours down.
Do not let that stop you from discovering Gothenburg, for there are lots of waterproof activities. Grab your umbrella and prepare for joy!

The Museum of World Culture and Universeum are two interesting buildings just across the street from Korsvägen. The museum is Gothenburg's most well attended and shows exhibitions on thought provoking themes. Inside the science centre Universeum you can explore the rainforest, the sea, monkeys, sharks, snakes and stingrays.

If you are fond of shopping, you can replenish your wardrobe in Nordstan to find as many as 200 shops under one roof. And just a stone's throw away is the shopping street Fredsgatan which is circled by the malls Arkaden and Kompassen.

When you feel like having a coffee the popular cafe Le Pain Français on Vallgatan is a good choice. Around the corner is the magnificent 1700-century Saluhallen where you can stroll between aromas and delicacies from around the world. From Saluhallen you can reach Stenpiren and the beautiful building Casino Cosmopol in just 10 minutes.

You can easily go sightseeing on the water with the ferry Älvsnabben which runs between the riverbanks.
