Terms of Travel Gothenburg Package

(For parties of no more than 9 people).

Who is responsible?
The seller (the travel agent or other point of purchase where you bought and paid for the journey) is responsible to you for the quality and execution of all arrangements they have sold you, regardless of whether they themselves provide them or have in turn purchased them from an operator, transport company or other supplier. These are in turn individually responsible to the seller for their share of the complete travel arrangement and for ensuring that suppliers contracted by them also fulfil their undertakings.
Göteborg & Co is therefore answerable to the seller for the Gothenburg Package, Gothenburg Pass and any theatre, meal and travel arrangements sold in the name of Göteborg & Co.
Göteborg & Co reserves the right to make changes to the information contained in catalogues and brochures before any agreement is reached with the traveller.
Göteborg & Co also reserves the right to make changes to the terms of the agreement that covers the journey. In the event of such changes the provisions of the general terms of travel apply.
The seller has a duty to ensure that:
– you receive the necessary travel documents.
– you are informed of all essential changes that affect your booking.
– the supplier(s) are paid for the services you have bought.

When does my booking become binding?
Your booking becomes a binding undertaking by you as soon as it is confirmed verbally or in writing by the seller, and these terms apply from that moment, regardless of whether you have paid for the arrangement in part or in full or not at all.

When must I pay?
The customer must pay the package price by the date given in the conditions below. Göteborg & Co may not demand full payment of the package price earlier than detailed below.
- Contract agent: final payment is to be made one (1) day before arrival. Payment is against invoice.

- Private customer: the company/customer pays against invoice or by credit card. If by credit card, the amount will be debited immediately at the time of booking. If against invoice, the amount is to be paid 21 days before arrival. In the case of foreign sales, payment can only be made by credit card.

- Online: the package is to be paid for immediately at the time of booking and solely by credit card. The website uses full encryption (SSL 128 bits), so that customers can safely enter their personal details and card information.

What happens if I do not pay in time?
You face the risk that the seller will cancel the arrangement and charge you a cancellation fee as detailed below. If this does not happen you will have to reimburse the seller for all the costs he has incurred in the form of fees to suppliers, etc.

What happens if I want to cancel?
You can cancel verbally or in writing (cancellation@goteborg.com) to the sales person who sold the arrangement to you. You can cancel a Gothenburg Package, i.e. hotel booking and Gothenburg Pass up to 17.00 on the day before your arrival date. If you cancel after 17.00 on the day before your arrival date or if you fail to arrive, you will be charged for the first night. If you are prevented from travelling at short notice and outside office hours, you can cancel a hotel booking by contacting the hotel directly, but if so you must inform the sales person who sold you the booking within two weeks. A refund cannot be guaranteed if you cancel directly with the hotel. A hotel package that includes events or transport cannot be cancelled separately. If a hotel package that includes events or transport is cancelled more than 35 days before your arrival date you will only be charged the cancellation cost for the hotel (SEK 100). If a hotel package that includes events or transport is cancelled more than 35 days before your arrival date you will only be charged the cancellation cost for the hotel (SEK 100) plus any cancellation waiver (SEK 50 per person). If you cancel less than 35 days before your arrival date you will be charged the cancellation cost for the hotel (SEK 100) plus the full price of the event.

What happens if I just want to change something?
You are entitled to change details such as the number of rooms or number of people, or to change the hotel or other arrangements, and simply pay an amendment fee of SEK 50. If you wish to change theatre tickets, however, the same time limits apply as above for cancellation. The customer may transfer the agreement to someone else who meets all the conditions for participating in the journey.

But what if something happens to me?
You can protect yourself against cancellation costs by buying cancellation protection for theatre events. This costs SEK 50 per theatre ticket. Cancellation protection covers the following situations, of which you must not have been aware before you booked:
a) death, illness or accident of a serious nature that affects you, your spouse, partner, family or co-traveller;
b) call-up to the armed forces or civil defence;
c) if a serious event occurs that is outside your control, which you could not foresee when you made the booking, and which means that it would be unreasonable to attempt to hold you to your booking, such as a major fire or flood in your home.
You must be able to provide documentary proof of such a hindrance, such as a certificate from a doctor, authority or insurance company. The certificate should be sent to the seller as soon as possible. Any certificate submitted later than 14 days after the cancellation date will not be considered. The fee for cancellation protection is non-refundable in the event of cancellation.

What happens if something goes wrong?
If all or part of your arrangement cannot be supplied and if no substitute arrangement can be organized that differs from your original booking to a degree that is insignificant to you, you are entitled to cancel.
The seller will then refund the full amount that you paid, minus deductions for any parts of the arrangement that you have already had the opportunity to utilize.
If a theatre performance or travel service is postponed at short notice, however, only the cost of the theatre tickets will be refunded.
If there is any problem after your arrival, try to get it rectified at the location (e.g. the hotel). If you want to make a complaint afterwards you should first contact the seller. Remember that you may be less likely to get a problem rectified if you delay a complaint.

What happens if we cannot agree?
If we cannot agree you can turn to the National Board for Consumer Complaints. This is made up of an impartial chairman and representatives of tour operators and consumers. The consumer advisor in your home municipality can help you. If possible, you should make your complaint during your stay. If a customer makes complaints that are justified, Göteborg & Co or its local representative must take immediate action to find an appropriate solution. Complaints regarding the Gothenburg Package will only be accepted in writing.
