Centrally located at Lilla Bommen with a magnificent view over the harbour. The repertoire includes opera, ballet, musicals and opera.
The building was completed in 1994 and the underlying idea was to become one of Europe's most interesting opera houses. There are two stages, a restaurant, café and bar.

Responsibilities include breadth and depth, new and old, known and unknown, to challenge, entertain, move, comfort and spread joy. An important part of the opera's activity is to put on productions for the young, to awaken and maintain the younger generation's interest for these art forms.
