The Art of Banksy has arrived in Gothenburg! The exhibitions is the world’s largest exhibition of Banksy pieces, borrowed from private collectors and international buyers and Steve Lazarides (previously Banksys manager and photographer) personal collection. The exhibition is not produced nor authorised by Banksy.
Gothenburg's Wardrobe is a brand new exhibition at the Museum of Gothenburg, dedicated to the wardrobe of the city between the years of 1880 –1930. Check out everything from incredible professionally sewn dresses to patched up children’s clothes.
The Hasselblad Center hosts world class photo exhibitions, and this year they highlight the 50th year anniversary of the moon landing (Hasselblad made the cameras that were used to capture the moon landing) with the exhibition Moonlight – 50 years of photographing the moon.
Faye Emmy is Gothenburg’s latest addition to the growing list of wine bars in the city, stop by for natural wines and pintxos! Carbon is an ambitious, fine dining establishment located near the central station. The man behind it, Jean Hankel, also runs restaurant Brasa in the same area. Nordic cuisine is on the menu at newly opened Noot Nordik Kitchen, open for lunch, dinner and cocktails at the street Östra Larmgatan. If you find yourself on the main boulevard Avenyn with a craving for French cheese, then gourmet bistro Le Comptoir is the answer to your prayers. At Le Comptoir you’ll also find drinks, charcuteries and pastries.
Gothenburg has two new hotels to offer this summer, Best Western Plus Åby Hotels is an experience in itself, with its interior design heavily inspired by Tivoli aesthetics. The hotel has 223 room and is located in Mölndal. Restaurant Isbolaget on the archipleago island of Donsö has opened a hotel, featuring 9 rooms and a suite, all with ocean view!
New Music festivals
Mölndal has more than a new hotel to offer! Right next to the hotel is Åby Arena which will host the West Coast Country festival on June 29, showcasing a wide range of country sub genres. Later this summer, in August, one of the world’s largest choir festivals European Choir Games comes to Gothenburg for a week of concerts and competitions.
