Restaurants

Diket opened in May on Karl Johansgatan 11 in the neighbourhood Majorna in cosy and airy premises. The menu is based on what the chefs themselves like to eat, and there is also wine on tap.

The two friends behind Wolfgang vincafé aimed to create an unpretentious hangout inspired by French wine cafes. Here you'll find a wide range of wines, of course, but also brunch, lunch, coffee and dinner.

On May 23rd, new pop up restaurant Huggorm! premiered at Sjömagasinet. They will continue to do pop ups and catering around town, and the menu focuses on marine delicacies and vegetarian dishes, combined with handpicked wines.

Rollin' bistros are about to open a new venue on the former factory grounds Gamlestadens Fabriker. On the menu you'll find colourful and healthy bowls, drinks and burger. The premises are unique and seeworthy in themselves, and concerts as well as outdoor seating are planned further on.

Tyska bron have opened their pier in the canal between Norra hamngatan and Södra hamngatan in central Gothenburg. The new venue is a part of Gothenburg's quadricentennial jubilee and forms a new meeting place in the city centre.

Culture

The Museum of Gothenburg has established restrictions and limited opening hours due to the covid-19 pandemic, but nonetheless there will be new exhibitions opening in 2020. Frispel opened digtal and on site on May 16. The exhibtion relates how the theatre scene changed in Gothenburg when traditional dramatic art was questioned and made room for fringe theatre in the 1960s and 70s.

Going out

The hiking trail Pilgrimsleden, that stretches along the river Göta älv between Masthugget in Gothenburg and Trollhättan, opens two new legs this summer. You can also join a five-day walk along the trail. Pilgrimsleden relates the birth and growth of Gothenburg and stretches across a varied landscape and there are legs of all levels and lenghts to choose from.

With the Sunset Club, Port du Soleil have created a new concept with adjustments to the current situation. Here you can book a cabana in the afternoon sun or a dinner with table service. Behind the menu you'll find Thomas Sjögren, Swedish chef of the year in 2015. The club offers plenty of space, distance managers, table service as well as one-person dance floors to create a safe environment. Open Fridays and Saturdays.

Shopping

The popular thrift shop Humana secondhand opened on Kaserntorget on March 25. The chain has stores in Stockholm and Malmö as well. During the covid-19 pandemic, they have transferred a part of their goods to online market place Tradera.
