A truly old-fashioned Christmas concert with Göteborg Baroque

“Angels in heaven could not have done it better.”

It is both touching and joyful to read the comments about Göteborg Baroque’s musical Christmas card recorded during the pandemic Christmas of 2020 when it wasn’t possible to perform music for an audience. Not only their loyal local audience has watched and listened, but also people from all around the world.

This year, we can look forward to sharing the Christmas spirit with Göteborg Baroque in the German Church!

Music by, among others, Dietrich Buxtehude (1637-1707), Michael Praetorius (1571-1621), and Johann Theile (1646-1724).

“So there is nothing to hide behind. Everything is heard. And it becomes as raw and personal as it can be. Every solo performance is clear and heartfelt, and the harmony among the ten singers is perfect.” … wrote Carl Magnus Juliusson in GöteborgsPosten in 2019 when Göteborg Baroque performed Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu Nostri as part of the ensemble’s 15th anniversary!
