Angereds bokmässa is a literary platform for writers, both established and emerging, in Angered and other suburbs. The event aims to highlight literature and poetry in suburban areas, reflecting the diversity of both literature and society.

Since 2018, Angereds bokmässa has established itself as a crucial platform for literature and poetry from the suburbs and in languages other than Swedish. Last spring, around 4 700 visitors flocked at the cultural centre Blå Stället to listen to literary stars like Fady Joudah, Eija Hetekivi and Agri Ismaïl – but also to explore newly emerged authors, browse through book stands, and participate in workshops, seminars, and spoken word performances.

On May 8, the book fair kicks off with a spoken word evening; and on Saturday, May 9, a day programme is offered, featuring discussions, seminars, readings, book tables, and outdoor activities.

Participating in and visiting the book fair is free.
