Anniversary exhibition: With an Eye on Nature – Fossils, Feathers and Photographs

In 2023 the Gothenburg Natural History Museum celebrates 100 years in Slottsskogen with an Eye on Nature.

The camera has since the mid 1800’s been an important tool in our meeting with nature. Both for scientific research and for the amateur’s passionate exploration of plants, animals, and geology.

This year the Gothenburg Natural History Museum celebrates 100 years in Slottsskogen, and on the 8th of July Göteborg Natural History Museum open the exhibition With an Eye on Nature – Fossils, Feathers, and Photographs.

The exhibition is a co-operation between the museum and the Hasselblad Foundation. It mirrors some of photography’s many different roles when it comes to the meeting and interplay with nature, and it also puts the historical material in a dialogue with contemporary photographs from the collections at the Hasselblad Foundation.
