Season grand finale: a celebratory concert with favourite arias, choruses and orchestral music from Italian operas. Avanti! is conducted by promising young conductors and ushers in the summer with uplifting opera music.

Avanti! is the finale to a unique master class for young conductors given by Antonello Allemandi.

Italian conductor Antonello Allemandi has a long career behind him and is considered one of Italy’s foremost conductors of his generation. He has conducted at the world’s leading opera houses including the Metropolitan in New York, Vienna State Opera and Covent Garden in London. He conducted The Barber of Seville at The Göteborg Opera in 2007.

During an intensive week, The Göteborg Opera will welcome six student conductors from music colleges in Stockholm, Oslo och Copenhagen to a master class with Allemandi. The master class week ends with a magnificent public grand finale: Avanti!, a concert of famous arias, opera choruses and orchestral music from Italian operas, performed on the Main Stage.
