The acclaimed flamenco dancer and choreographer Olga Pericet returns to Stora Teatern with the performance Baile Sonoro. A vibrant dance-concert format where flamenco meets contemporary expressions in a constantly evolving form. Here, Pericet seeks to take the classical flamenco recital and reinterpret it through her own contemporary lens: personal, uncompromising, and in search of yet unexplored spaces.
Baile Sonoro is a meeting of three bodies: dance, guitar, and voice. Together, they create a shared flow in which time, space, and rhythm are continuously shifted. On stage, an open, living space emerges where the fundamental movements and energies of flamenco are stretched, broken apart, and reshaped.
Olga Pericet is an internationally acclaimed flamenco dancer, choreographer, and creator who moves effortlessly between tradition and experimentation. Her flamenco is full of contrasts: dark and light, feminine and masculine, unsettling and beautiful all at once.
In Baile Sonoro, Pericet is joined by guitarist and composer José Manuel León and singer Mercedes Cortés. Together, they form a tightly-knit flamenco collective in which each has a distinct voice, yet the music and dance emerge in the same breath. Baile Sonoro is a performance that continuously adapts to its space and context – a work in constant motion and evolution.
