With brutally honest expression and an intensity that cuts through every filter, Canadian band Counterparts has cemented its place as one of the most respected names on the melodic hardcore scene. On January 30, they will perform at Filmstudion in Gothenburg, followed by a show at Kollektivet Livet in Stockholm on February 1. Joining them are support acts God Complex, One Step Closer and Sunami. These will be two explosive nights not to be missed.
On their latest album A Eulogy For Those Still Here and the follow-up EP Heaven Let Them Die, Brendan Murphy and the rest of Counterparts pushed their expression to the extreme – both sonically and emotionally. The material deals with loss before anything is actually lost, relationships on the brink and the grief over what still remains. The result? An emotional storm and some of the band’s most dynamic songs to date.
Live, Counterparts are unstoppable – raw, immediate and utterly uncompromising. Add to that a palette of melody, fury and vulnerability, and you get a show that is as exhausting as it is cathartic. These upcoming concerts are a must for fans of modern hardcore.
Support: God Complex, One Step Closer, Sunami.
