Eagles of Death Metal are an American rock band from Palm Desert, California, founded in 1998 by Jesse Hughes and Joshua Homme. Over the years, the band has featured a wide range of musicians both in the studio and on stage. The current touring line‑up consists of frontman Hughes, Leah Bluestein (drums), Scott Shiflett (guitar) and Dustin Douglas (bass).
Despite the name, Eagles of Death Metal are not a death metal band – the name is intended as a joke. With a sound described as “bluegrass slide guitar mixed with stripper drum beats and Canned Heat vocals”, and a frontman in Hughes known for his flamboyant stage antics and strong audience connection, their live shows are truly something to experience.
EODM have released four studio albums to date — Peace Love Death Metal, Death by Sexy, Heart On and Zipper Down — and have toured extensively around the world over the past two decades. A brand‑new studio album is currently in the works and soon set to be released.
