Fotosalongen will open on May 24 and fill the walls of Hasselblad Center in Gothenburg. This initiative is fully aligned with Erna and Victor Hasselblad’s vision to promote the photographic arts. Visitors can expect surprising encounters and fresh perspectives, where established names meet new talents and photographers who have worked for years without previously exhibiting their work—until now.

The open call was available to anyone working with still photography in Sweden 18 years or older. Fotosalongen reflects the full spectrum of photographic expression – from documentary, photojournalism, nature, family or street style to science, politics, art, and everything in between. The selection emphasizes compelling images, strong narratives, and diversity in expression. Fotosalongen offers a snapshot of contemporary photography in Sweden today.
