GEIGER – Operafest

This opera festival that aims to present female music creators and show upon the creative opera movement that is brewing in the southern parts of Sweden. The weekend will present you with a variety of electro-acoustic opera and concert opera performance, along with Individually adapted, interactive and meditative operas, by local and internationally connected groups.

GEIGER was started around 2004 by a few composers and musicians, several of whom had met at what is today called the Academy of Music and Drama. They started their own community to create a place and context for new music, especially new electronic music. Over the years, since the start, they have arranged an awful lot of concerts, with music and sound art, that otherwise would never have been experienced in Gothenburg.
