Antonio Vivaldi remains an enduring audience favourite, whose unforgettable melodies have become part of our shared musical consciousness. Göteborg Baroque opens the season with a programme devoted entirely to this beloved master, showcasing the most dazzling works from both his vocal and instrumental output. The crowning jewel of the evening is the breathtaking Violin Concerto in B-flat major, better known as La Caccia, featuring our leader, Fredrik From, as violin soloist.
Göteborg Baroque is one of Sweden’s leading vocal and instrumental ensembles, renowned for its performances of the great Baroque masterpieces as well as long-forgotten musical gems, many unheard for centuries. Founded in 2003 by its Artistic Director, Magnus Kjellson, Göteborg Baroque is led from a unique claviorganum, specially built for the ensemble after the model of the Instrument played by George Frideric Handel in the eighteenth century
