In 1778, the merchant John Hall purchased the estate of Gunnebo in the parish of Fässberg to build a summer residence.

The Hall family owned and inhabited Gunnebo for only two generations, but their impact on Gunnebo is the most profound, and the family plays a central role in the estate’s history.

During a guided tour, both the elegant rooms on the main floor and the smaller guest rooms on the upper floor are showcased. Gunnebo’s qualified guides present the rise and fall of the Hall family as well as architect Carlberg’s artistic inspiration and the foreign influences that are evident throughout the house.

The tour begins outside the castle’s southern entrance under the stairs.
