Hillside Projects shows a variety of installations at Röda Sten konsthall.

An exhibition by Hillside Projects, Arijit Bhattacharyya and Julia Schuster

For the summer exhibition, Röda Sten Konsthall introduces three different artistic practices with the sound-mimicking title dhak dhak ho-hum ah eekff iii ie. The exhibition presents a series of paintings, monumental clay installations, and video-performances by artists Arijit Bhattacharyya, Julia Schuster, and the art collective Hillside Projects. Many of the artworks on display have been created in dialogue with the exhibition space.

The exhibition´s red thread is founded in the artists shared interest in questions of transformation, movement and evolution. Through various artistic expressions they scrutinise different aspects of spatial and time transformations, while exploring the circulation of ideas, and movement of bodies. The word “movement” becomes interesting here as it is both defined as the act of moving as well as an organised effort to create change by people with shared beliefs.

With this exhibition, Hillside Projects, Arijit Bhattacharyya, and Julia Schuster remind us that there are countless ideas that can make people move towards shared or conflicting goals. It remains to be seen in which direction we are moving at this specific point in time. What ideas guide your path, your movement forward?

The exhibition is curated by Amila Puzić and Mia Christersdotter Norman
