With over three decades of uncompromising death metal, twelve albums, hundreds of shows around the world, and a loyal fanbase, Hypocrisy stands as one of Sweden’s most influential metal acts of all time.
The band was founded by Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy, The Abyss, PAIN, ex-Lindemann), whose vision and drive laid the foundation for what would become one of the country’s most respected names in the genre.
Since then, Hypocrisy has evolved both musically and conceptually, with their signature heavy yet melodic sound, crushing drums, dark lyrics, and versatile vocals that have become their hallmark. From the debut Penetralia to the latest album Worship, via classics like The Fourth Dimension, Abducted, and Virus, the band has delivered an epic metal journey, and the journey continues.
In April 2026, Hypocrisy returns to Swedish stages for two exclusive shows. On April 4 in Gothenburg and the following evening in Stockholm. Joining them are Abbath as special guest, along with Vomitory and Vreid as support. A fully loaded evening that promises to be a monumental gathering of world-class Nordic extreme metal.
