A Living Legacy
Under the leadership of Horacio Salinas, the group’s musical director since 1968 and composer of many of their most beloved works, the ensemble has continued to evolve. Together with José Seves and Horacio Durán, he forms the core of a group that constantly renews itself, creating a rich and vibrant musical legacy spanning several decades.
Symphonic Encounters
Inti-Illimani’s symphonic projects have become an important part of their artistic journey. Since the late 1980s, they have collaborated with orchestras around the world, opening new musical dimensions. They have performed with ensembles including the Chicago Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and leading orchestras throughout Latin America and Europe.
One of their most acclaimed projects was a tribute concert to Violeta Parra and Víctor Jara in Pompeii, together with the orchestra and choir of the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples. Here, tradition and symphonic music come together in a powerful and deeply moving expression.
