He now presents his new project, Shapeshifter Quintet – a group featuring tenor saxophone, guitar, piano, double bass and drums – with a new album out on the Danish label April Records.
The music moves between joy and melancholy, shifting from powerful climaxes to quiet, emotional moments. Inspired by composers such as Pat Metheny, Milton Nascimento, Toninho Horta and Kurt Rosenwinkel, Henriksson blends melodic openness with a distinctly Nordic sense of mood, creating music that is dynamic, evolving and deeply expressive.
