Light exhibition
A unique lighting design event in the city centre of Alingsås.
A feeling that brighter times await, Lights in Alingsås wants to kindle that sparkle of hope by turning on its lights and creating opportunities for visitors to gather and to reflect. On September 30, the twenty-third edition of Lights in Alingsås will be inaugurated with the theme “Only one earth. 7.9 billion reflections.
Lights in Alingsås is a lighting design event in which lighting designers from across the globe illuminate urban environments together with international students through a workshop. The workshop lasts for one week and ends with the grand opening. The installations can be seen throughout the month of October.
Walking and seeing the installations on your own is for free. The installations are lit from dusk to dawn and follow the usual streetlights’ rhythm every day from September 30 to November 6. You choose which time that suits you the best to visit the event. There are more visitors on weekends than on weekdays. To find out more about this year’s installations, you can buy a digital guided tour in English via the app Lights in Alingsås.
To book a private guided tour, please see this link for information. There are no general tours in English via Billetto.se.
(The guided tours in Swedish run every week from Wednesday to Sunday, departing from Åmanska Parken. Ticket release at Billetto.se in September).
