Few artists have changed the direction of music the way Miles Davis did.

From the birth of cool jazz in the late 1940s, to masterpieces like Kind of Blue, and later into electric explorations with Bitches Brew – Miles Davis was never still. He constantly redefined jazz. Always one step ahead. Always in motion.

Kind of Blue remains the best-selling jazz album of all time. Milestones marked the beginning of something new. Together, they represent a turning point in music history where improvisation found a new language, and simplicity became depth.

This evening 100 years of innovation, edge, and beauty will be celebrated.

Trumpeter Samuel Olsson (Bohuslän Big Band) brings together some of Sweden’s leading jazz musicians to interpret music from Milestones and Kind of Blue:

Samuel Olsson – trumpet
Ludvig Broman – alto saxophone
Linus Lindblom – tenor saxophone
Carl Bagge – piano
Niklas Fernqvist – bass
Daniel Fredriksson – drums
