It has been nine years since “The Music Aid” was in Gothenburg last time, but now it’s back!
Musikhjälpen was broadcast live three times before in Gothenburg – in 2009, 2011 and 2013. This time the glass cage will be placed on Kungstorget square with the Market Hall as its nearest neighbour.
Musikhjälpen is a charity event with three presenters broadcasting live radio and television from the glass cage, around the clock for 144 hours. Meanwhile, they are visited by artists and other guests. The fundraising is mostly based on the audience’s song requests, which also make up all the music played in the programme. This year’s host are Oscar Zia, Tina Mehrafzoon and Klas Eriksson! Read more here.
This year, donations to Musikhjälpen 2022 will go to increase safety and improving the lives of children and young people under the age of 18 living in ongoing refugee situations around the world. The audience can request songs, donate money and do peer-to-peer fundraising to contribute to the cause. Musikhjälpen engages hundreds of thousands of people every year. Read more here.
This year’s hosts will be revealed later. Keep an eye on Musikhjälpen’s social media.
Musikhjälpen is a collaboration between P3 Sveriges Radio, SVT and Radiohjälpen. Musikhjälpen is broadcast live in its entirety on P3 and SVT Play. Large parts are also broadcast on SVT2 and SVT24.
