Johannes Skoog is one of Sweden’s most in-demand concert organists. In 2024, he won first prize in the prestigious Canadian International Organ Competition (CIOC). He trained in Stockholm and Paris and is new Royal Court Organist in Stockholm from 2025.
French composer Maurice Ravel was small in stature but a giant of his field. His piano piece Gaspard de la Nuit was inspired by Dark Romanticism and a collection of poems said to be written by the devil himself. Characters include Ondine the seductive water nymph, and a goblin from hell called Scarbo. Ravel’s wild imaginings resulted in one of the most technically demanding pieces of the piano literature.
