The Rocket brings together two musical worlds in a seamless collaboration: the Swedish Svante Söderqvist Triowith pianist Adam Forkelid and drummer Calle Rasmusson, alongside Swedish-Estonian accordionist and sound explorer Tuulikki Bartosik.
Following the success of their debut album Arrival (2020), the trio began exploring new sonic landscapes, naturally leading to their collaboration with Bartosik. United by a shared love for Swedish folk music and a curiosity for new expressions, the partnership grew into an organic and inspiring musical meeting.
Led by Svante Söderqvist’s melodic and soulful compositions, the project blends jazz, folk influences and experimental textures. His classical-inspired approach allows both double bass and cello to take center stage, sometimes accompanied by wordless vocals.
Bartosik adds a unique layer of sound through her expressive accordion playing, where subtle electronic elements merge seamlessly with the acoustic setting. The result is a constantly evolving musical journey, shaped by the moment.
