The Secret of the Factory

A mysterious Christmas adventure for the whole family.

Get into the Christmas spirit with the Göteborg Opera’s new Christmas show! The Secret of the Factory is a family adventure full of surprises – with music which ranges from baroque pieces to traditional St. Lucia and Christmas classics.

A Lucia procession is on a tour of the city, and the final stop is at a dark factory on a deserted industrial estate. The young people in the procession start getting nervous, but a janitor appears to take them on a tour. On the tour they meet a variety of characters who all have odd professions: a dream collector, a rhyme-smith, an inventor … and as they continue, the surroundings become glitzier but the mood stays gloomy.

What kind of factory is it? Can their singing fix what seems to have gone wrong there?

The Göteborg Opera’s new Christmas performance will take you on an exciting adventure, as the opera soloists and the Göteborg Opera’s Youth Choir perform together with the Göteborg Opera Orchestra.

Recommended age: 6 and up

Performed in Swedish with English and Swedish subtitles.
