Behind the hidden archive is a journey into a space of lost hope. A participatory performance opening a library – an archive – of fragile memories.
An invitation to closeness, relation, reframing, and distance. Carrying our disappointments differently by weaving them into each other. Similarities and differences? Awakening the memory. Changing the repressed emotion. Bringing alive what stayed within us.
The performance opens a space to meet again, to hold differently and to discover other layers without vanishing.
Pia Nüchterlein is a German theatre maker and performance artist based in Gothenburg, Sweden. In her work she uses different media and formats including film, gatherings and participatory processes.
The performance is part of Experimentations 2.o, where students on the Master’s programme in Contemporary Performative Arts at the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg present their master’s theses at Skogen, Atalante, Lagerhuset Library, the Natural History Museum and Valandkvarteret at Vasagatan 50 between 16 and 27 February.
The students work for two years on an artistic research project and present their processes here through installations and performances.
