Embark on a journey back in time to the summer of 1719, when the Danish naval hero Peter Tordenskjold led a dramatic assault on Gothenburg’s defenses in an authentic sea attack from the ocean, with the fortress valiantly defending itself against the Danish fleet.

Encounter soldiers from Sweden, Norway, and Denmark in their historical uniforms and explore the “enemy fleet” in the harbor.

Throughout the day, you can also enjoy presentations by various associations in the courtyard and witness a dramatic infantry assault on the hornwork. In addition to these highlights, there are smaller historical activities, a café, and a restaurant to enhance your day.

Come and experience living history where you are part of the story.

All practical information and how to get there can be found on the New Älvsborg Fortress’s website on the right.
