Exhibition East Indies

During summer 2021 the rooms in the House will form the backdrop to the Treasures of the East Indies exhibition which will relate the history of the Swedish East India Company and Gothenburg’s emergence as a centre for trade through a number of unique objects. How did trade with East Asia affect people’s lifestyles, social conduct and artistic expression? And who actually was the internationally known public figure and Gothenburger William Chambers?

The exhibition is open to the public on guided round tours at set times but can also be booked for group visits. Gunnebo follows the restrictions in place because of the pandemic and the number of visitors will be limited to the permitted amount. It’s easy to maintain a safe distance in the House.
