UTS, created by coach and entrepreneur Patrick Mouratoglou, will bring eight of the world’s leading male players to the 10,000-seat arena to compete for a prize money pot of USD 1 million.
The competition runs across two days. Day one stages the quarter-finals, with four matches deciding who advances. Day two builds to the climax with classification matches, the semi-finals and the final — five matches in total to crown the champion and settle the year-end standings, with up to USD 511,000 for the ultimate winner of the tournament. Former UTS Champions include Alex de Minaur, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Ben Shelton, Gael Monfils, Casper Ruud and Andrey Rublev.
UTS promises tennis like never before with an innovative, quickfire fan-friendly format designed to engage and encourage eye-catching tennis. Players compete in high intensity, timed matches of 45 minutes each. They are only allowed one serve and can also play UTS bonus cards at pivotal moments during the match.
Crowds are encouraged to cheer between and during the points, creating a high-energy atmosphere more similar to football and handball matches than traditional tennis events. They even hear from the players during the match thanks to live interviews between the quarters.
