The Malmska Whale stranded in Askim Bay in 1865 and is the world’s only mounted blue whale. Throughout West Sea Week, the old whale keeps her jaws open so you can peek into her belly — and on Friday, 7 August, you can even step inside.
Because of the whale’s great age, it’s only opened on special occasions such as Walpurgis Night, during West Sea Week, and on national election days — so don’t miss your chance.

Cost: Entering the whale is included in the admission fee. Free admission for children and young people under 20. Read more about admission fees.
Accessibility: Please note that there may be a long queue. Part of the queue includes stairs, but visitors using wheelchairs or strollers can speak with our hosts, who will show an alternative route. Children should be accompanied by an adult. Visitors with disabilities that make queuing difficult may, together with an assistant, move ahead in the line. Speak with the hosts and show a certificate from, for example, the habilitation services.
