The soft presence, elegant musicality and deep soulfulness in Yukimi’s expression are unmistakable. Whether she serves as the glue holding together Little Dragon’s eclectic mix of R&B, electronic music and indie, or, as now, embarks on a solo career, she remains a truly unique artist. On her debut album ‘For You’, Yukimi departs from the band’s dance-leaning yet intricate electronic pop and explores a softer, more minimalist and jazz-tinged approach, without losing the unmistakable sense of contemporary grounding we have come to associate with her. ‘For You’ also features some of the most vulnerable and personal lyrics she has ever written.
With this highly praised solo debut, the Swedish-Japanese artist is now set to tour Sweden. On April 16 she visits Gothenburg and Pustervik for a concert.
