Photo Exhibition
The exhibition shows images famous and obscure from Gothenburg from the 1850s to the present day.
Pictures of the City of Gothenburg number in the hundreds of thousands, but what can a picture tell us more than the patently obvious? What is happening beyond eyeshot? Just how many layers of stories are there?
The exhibition is based on the ‘Gothenburg through the Ages’ (Tidernas Göteborg) research project in which the Museum of Gothenburg, the Hasselblad Foundation, the University of Gothenburg, the Kamerareportage Image Bureau, Regional State Archives in Gothenburg, Göteborg & Co, Göteborgs-Posten and Bokförlaget Max Ström have collaborated.
