National regulations and general advice

In Sweden, there are national regulations and general advice aimed to slow down the spread of Covid-19. Read more about the national regulations here.

Travelling to and within Sweden

At you will find updated information about travel restrictions and entry requirements.

Please pay attention to specific restrictions stated by your airline, train, bus or ferry operator.

At Göteborg-Landvetter Airport, there are various safety measures in place.

The shuttle bus service Flygbussarna, as well as the major taxi operators, have also taken measures to ensure your safety.

Gothenburg’s city centre is very compact and you can walk basically everywhere. Public transport is operating as usual but please avoid travelling during rush hour.

It’s easy to get around the city by rental bike, by electric scooter or on foot.

Hotels and restaurants

The hotels in Gothenburg have made adjustments in order to ensure a safe stay, providing alternative check-in/check-out procedures as well as special breakfast and cleaning arrangements. Visita, the sector and employers’ organisation for the Swedish tourism industry, have launched the campaign Safe to visit, with measures to prevent the spread of infection in restaurants, campsites and hotels.

Public gatherings and events in Sweden are allowed with a limited number of participants. In our Events calendar, we list events that follow these restrictions.
