Kungstorget & Basargatan

The square Kungstorget is the hub for this year’s festival with experiences, concerts and street food. This weekend there will be performances from, among others, Timbuktu, Hurula and Ana Diaz. In addition, the big Climate Live gala kicks off on Thursday, which offers music in various genres and interesting speakers.

At the street Basargatan that stretches like a semicircle around the square Kungstorget, you’ll find food trucks s to serve every craving. The site is hosting the Street Food Festival, as well as the Swedish Championships in street food that take place on September 2.

Bältespännarparken

The programme at the festival site Bältespännarparken is a mix of concerts with local musicians and sustainable foodie experiences at the Urban Food Space. Imagine a farmers’ market that meets the city pulse in a perfect symbiosis!

Slottsskogen

Slottsskogen city park is where you’ll find activities for all ages such as circus, folk dance, and pony rides. On September 2, Göteborg Film Festival offers a free open-air cinema showing the Norwegian film “Världens värsta människa”.

Gamlestaden & Slakthuset 

In the old butcher’s quarters in the neighbourhoosd Gamlestaden, the market-garden Växtverket focuses on gardens and vegetation. Here you will also find the occasional brewery. Together with the event “Gamlestadsgalej”, the Gothenburg Cultural Festival offers a line-up och cultural activities, food and drinks, and more at Slakthuset on September 3. In addition, there are activities throughout the weekend in and around the area.

Ringön

Ö-festen is a street festival at the industrial area Ringön, with music, flea market, food and drinks. Ö-festen takes place September 3, and this year it is a part of the Gothenburg Culture Festival’s programme.

Bergsjön

Kulturhuset Bergsjön is a newly opened cultural centre at Rymdtorget in the north-east part of Gothenburg. The Gothenburg Culture Festival visits the centre and creates a programme filled with experiences, community and culture. In the area Bergsjön, you can also help build the troll Bergsjötrollet and go in a parade, read and listen to poetry or visit one of the other festivals happening: Textilfestivalen and Tellusfestivalen.
