Långgatorna and Majorna
The street Andra Långgatan has a rich cultural life with galleries, pubs and restaurants. At Holy Moly you can listen to jazz, blues and folk music. Just around the corner, you’ll find Potatisen, a lively spot known for stand-up, karaoke, and frequent live band performances. And when it comes to live music, you can’t miss Pustervik at Järntorget – a true meeting place for music lovers, offering a packed schedule of concerts and events.

The area around the square Järntorget, and the four parallell streets Långgatorna, is a hub for the alternative and relaxed life. Enjoy a drink with friends, grab a bite to eat or go for theatre or a gig.

The area surrounding the square Stigbergstorget teems with local music, outdoor areas, and historical surroundings. Once a neighbourhood just outside the city centre, the square has now transformed into a meeting place for those seeking to immerse themselves in Gothenburg’s thriving food and cultural scene.
At the top of Stigberget you’ll find the large record store Bengans. In addition to buying records and attending signing events, you can listen to record-breaking bands and artists at Fyrens Ölkafé next to the shop. At Karl Johansgatan 16, Hängmattan Kök & Bar arranges concerts with minor live acts a couple of times a week. Crippas Café at Chapmans Torg has a nice mix of local bands. If you have a dog, take it with you! In the Klippan district lies Porter Pelle, where you can listen to everything from pop to rock with the water as your closest neighbour. And don’t miss the jazz nights at Utopia Jazz, where you can enjoy live music with a great groove several evenings a week.
