Behind the taqueria are the same people who previously ran Big Bird Little Meats.

Bhoga has reopened after an extensive renovation. The restaurant’s focus remains on Nordic fine dining with ingredients from nearby farms, with a menu that changes daily according to season and ingredients. The restaurant previously had one star in the Michelin Guide, but lost it when it closed in 2024.

Eduard Melin is a café located on a former steamship moored at the Klippan dock in Gothenburg. Open year-round, the café offers views over the Port of Gothenburg, along with lunch and coffee crafted by fine dining chef Sofia B. Olsson, known from the restaurant Vrå.

Umarell at Dicksonska palatset

After several years of silence and ongoing restoration, the historic Dicksonska palatset at Heden in Gothenburg is now being brought back to life. Restaurant Umarell has now open its doors, run by restaurateur Oliver Ingrosso and chef Louise Johansson. Here, rustic elegance is combined with Italian flavours in an environment that encourages both spontaneous visits and celebrations. The restaurant will be the first to open in Dicksonska, which in the future will also house a banquet hall, bars and a chess club.

Amano

At Drottninggatan 37 in central Gothenburg, you’ll find Amano – a new taco spot where everything is made by hand. The menu is created by chef Alan Nonell Borrone from Barcelona, previously acclaimed for the restaurant Bocado.

Sol Bageri och Kaffe

Sol Bageri & Kaffe is a craft bakery and café located at the street Eklandagatan 8 in the neighbourhood of Johanneberg. The bright and stylish premises offer a carefully selected range of freshly baked bread, breakfast and coffee. The menu includes sourdough bread, croissants, buns, baguettes and shortcrust pastry tartlets. The bakery places great emphasis on craftsmanship and first-class ingredients. Prost Bierhalle is a German-inspired beer hall serving hearty Bavarian dishes, cold beer, and the chance to play a round or two of darts.

La Taqueria

La Taqueria is an authentic Mexican taqueria located on Nobelgatan 2 in eastern Gothenburg. The restaurant is a sister restaurant to Tizne, and shares the same passion for conveying genuine Mexican flavours. The menu offers classic dishes such as carnitas, flautas and veggie birrias, cooked with traditional techniques and served with accompaniments such as lime, onion, cilantro and cabbage. La Taqueria focuses on simplicity and honesty in its tacos, reflecting an effort to preserve the authenticity of Mexican cuisine.

Izakaya by Komo

A Japanese tavern in the heart of Gothenburg that opened in May 2025. They serve sushi and Japanese small plates prepared with authentic Japanese ingredients and over 15 years of experience.

Palmes Pentry

Palmes Pentry is a close neighbour and sister restaurant to Folk, located right next to the main venue at Järntorget. It has its own bar and a tasting menu that offers something different from what is served at Folk. The environment is more intimate, the service has a personal tone and the dishes are changed more often. The venue is smaller in size but offers all the character, with space for both spontaneous guests and booked parties. Palmes Pentry complements Folk, but at the same time has a clear style and its own expression that makes the restaurant stand strong on its own merits.

Omami

Omami serves authentic Asian street food inspired by Vietnam, Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, with two restaurants in Gothenburg. One is located at Viktor Rydbergsgatan 71 and the other at Linnégatan 13.

Gillestugan Jerntorget

In addition to a rich and varied menu featuring classic favourites from both Scandinavian and European cuisine, there’s also karaoke every Wednesday from 10pm and live music every weekend from 10pm.

Café Imperiet

In the same spirit as its sister businesses Champagnebaren, Unity Jazz and Bar Bruno, Café Imperiet has now opened its doors in one of Gothenburg’s most charming courtyards. In the former record store Discreet Music, coffee, wine and a wonderful atmosphere with a Francophile touch are offered from early morning until late evening. Here, continental vibes coexist with the scent of espresso and soft tones, all in a carefully renovated space with a new window facing the courtyard.

Götabergs Kök & Bar

Götabergs Kök & Bar is a neighbourhood restaurant in the heart of Vasastan, created by the same restaurateur behind Lorensbergs Fisk & Bar. Dishes are served here with a focus on well cooked, deep-fried dishes and distinct flavours, as a complement to the sister restaurant’s fish-based menu. The venue is characterized by a clear art focus, where everything hanging on the walls is for sale. The ambition is to become a meeting place for both food and art enthusiasts, with regular openings and an open mind for both established and new artists.
Götabergsgatan 20

Wine Mechanics wine bar in Linné

In a small but lively venue on Linnégatan, Wine Mechanics serves its own wines on tap and in bottles, along with seasonal comfort food without frills. The new wine bar in Linné has taken over the former premises of Gerd and offers a relaxed atmosphere with high ceilings – both figuratively and literally. With a few seats outdoors and about twenty indoors, an intimate atmosphere is created where the ambition is clear: to make wine accessible, fun and completely without snobbery.

Brasserie Voyage

At Vasaplatsen, you’ll find Brasserie Voyage – a vibrant meeting place with room for 200 guests and an outdoor terrace with a Parisian feel. The menu brings together the flavours of the Mediterranean, inspired by French and Italian cuisine, with touches of Greece and Spain.

Miss Miso

Miss Miso serves flavours from Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia in an inviting and modern setting. The dishes are interpreted in the restaurant’s own style, with a focus on taste, texture, and precision. Behind Miss Miso is the team from the Michelin-starred restaurant Project.

Suber

The restaurant and wine bar Suber opened its doors on 11 March on the street Aschebergsgatan 40. Behind the venture are sisters Wilma and Klara Guldbrandsen, both with extensive experience in the restaurant industry. The restaurant offers an intimate environment with a menu that breathes French with Scandinavian and West Coast elements. The focus is also on wine, and the wine list is constantly updated to match the menu.

Hjôrdis

Right in the heart of Järntorget, you’ll find the newly opened Hjôrdis. Here, you can enjoy ice-cold schnapps, classic Swedish mixed drinks, and modern takes on traditional Swedish dishes such as raggmunk (potato pancakes), smörgåstårta (savoury sandwich cake), gubbröra (a creamy egg and anchovy mix), and Toast Pelle Janzon (beef tartare on toast with egg yolk).

A lively bistro with a focus on delightful drinks. Sister restaurant to the fine dining venue Human by Martin Moses, located in Linnéstaden.

BLOKK

BLOKK opened in the spring of 2025 and is run by the team behind the popular bar and restaurant Bruk. The restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere, food with a focus on Nordic ingredients, and expertly crafted cocktails.

Borgskogs is back in town

Fredrik and Bella Borgskog are opening a new café with a restaurant feel in the neighbourhood Linné this spring, in the former premises of Bodega Nord. After the successes at Prinsgatan, Ringön and at Äskekärr säteri at Lygnern (which will still be open), they are now bringing their craft back to town again. Here the focus will be on bread-based food, desserts and of course freshly baked buns.

Ego Distillers and Ego Spritbar

The Ego Distillers distillery has opened a cocktail bar with an associated restaurant in Gamlestaden’s factories. According to themselves, this is Gothenburg’s coolest distillery and cocktail bar.

The Mansion by Mannerström

The chef Sebastian Mannerström carries on a proud legacy that spans five generations, while also forging his own path – something clearly reflected in the newly opened restaurant in Gothenburg. Here, traditional hearty Swedish home cooking is combined with innovative street food.

Barnet

At the restaurant Barnet, (The Child), they know what kids really want to eat and have tailored the menu to dishes that won’t disappoint anyone in the family – like spaghetti Bolognese, rosehip soup, and waffles.

Bamba Fixfabriken

“Bamba” is the Gothenburg word for “school canteen”. And just like back in school, classic Swedish dishes are served – think meatballs with mash, breaded fish with boiled potatoes, or why not try the “skomakarlåda” with pan-fried entrecôte? On 16 May 2025, another Bamba restaurant opened in the older part of the newly developed Fixfabriken district in Majorna.

The classic Majorna Bowling, which you can find in the Stigbergsbacken, has now reopened its restaurant Backen after an extensive renovation. Enjoy good food and drinks, and then head down one floor for some great bowling.

Behind the restaurant are the restaurateur brothers Miki and Kiki Ingber, known from previous restaurant projects in the city. Restaurant Kravall can be found at the street Prinsgatan 3 in the neighbourhood of Linnéstaden and is perfect for a glass of wine, some oysters, or a larger dinner.

Newly opened lunch and dinner restaurant, the latest addition to the Orrmyr family’s range of restaurants. You’ll find it at Kungsportsplatsen. In addition to an exciting and playful menu inspired by Spain, Italy and France, and an atmosphere that evokes the Mediterranean, they also offer a large and inviting outdoor seating area.

Vita Duvan

Vita Duvan is a restaurant located at the street Västra Hamngatan 24 in Gothenburg. The restaurant is run by three siblings who are also responsible for Marstrands Wärdshus and Grand Hotel Marstrand on the island of Marstrand, which have been in the family’s ownership since the 1970s and 1980s. The name Vita Duvan (White Dove) is a tribute to their uncles’ pub life in the 1960s, when the club Hvita Dufvan was located at the street Kungsportsavenyn 18. The name was chosen as a peaceful contrast to the black eagle that adorned the building’s facade. At Vita Duvan you can enjoy a delicious lunch on both weekdays and weekends, as well as dinner in the evening.

Dubbelhakan

At Pizzeria Dubbelhakan in Gamlestaden, the pizza is prepared in the Neapolitan way, in an authentic Neapolitan wood-fired pizza oven. The ambition is to create really good pizza that is easy and a little more fun to eat through different flavour combinations that goes beyond the traditional.

Mugwort

Mugwort has moved from Gråbo, where they previously resided, and is now in the Meat Packing District in the neighbourhood Gamlestaden. Here they cook food from scratch and smoke all their meat themself. Here you can count on a real barbecue experience!

Collage

In Gothenburg’s most vibrant quarter, you’ll find the Collage restaurant in a premises with a rich history. Over the past 200 years, the building has served as home to everything from a cigar factory and wine warehouse to a glass and china shop. It offers dreamlike drinks, an out-of-the-ordinary menu and buzz into the wee hours. Collage is inspired by bistros you find in Paris and New York.

Le 20ème

A small neighbourhood bistro and wine bar, or as the owners themselves say “Un petit Bistro et bar à vin de quartier”. Le 20ème is a cosy and genuine French bistro found at Gamlestadstorget in the eastern parts of Gothenburg. Everything from charcuterie, French cheeses and natural wine to larger dishes are served here.

Restaurang INTE

On August 16, Restaurang NOT opened on the pub-packed Linnégatan. INTE is a classic neighborhood pub with a focus on modern European cuisine. The restaurant is a joint project of the owners of Restaueang Tizne and Koizen. Read more here.

Hasselsons opened their fourth restaurant in Gothenburg in September 2024.

Hasselssons Drottninggatan

Childhood friends Adam and Oliver, who run the Hasselssons success story, are opening another restaurant. The idea is that Hasselsson’s Drottninggatan will become an extension of the sister restaurant in Majorna with fast food from the sea on the menu. Read more here.

Feskekörka

After extensive renovation work, and with a completely new concept, the iconic Feskekörka has opened its doors to visitors again. In addition to being able to buy world-class seafood, visitors will now find four new restaurants and bars with national and international guest performances in the kitchens, a stage with entertainment and one of Gothenburg’s largest outdoor terraces facing the Vallgraven.

Ceno Brasserie

Ceno is latin and means “I dine”. “Dine” is english and means “feasting for the taste buds with delightful company in a magical building”, at least if we get to decide. As a restaurant in the World of Volvo experience center, Ceno Brasserie provides guests and visitors with good food under the direction of star chef Stefan Karlsson.

Lorensbergs Fisk & Bar

On the corner at Berzeliigatan 5 is the fish and shellfish restaurant Lorensbergs Fisk & Bar. Next to the restaurant part there is also a fish shop where you can buy fine ingredients from the sea to take home with you. The idea behind the restaurant and the shop was to make seafood more accessible to residents, workers and visitors in the neighbourhood. Lorensbergs Fisk & Bar offers, of course, fresh fish and the many delicacies of the sea, but also other nice things that goes well with fish and seafood.

Vassen Market (May 2026)

Vassen Market is an upcoming major food and culture destination on Hisingen. With its 6,500 square meters, the market houses street food, art, tattoo studios, live music and skate culture and is intended as a living meeting space where the world’s flavours and urban expression meet.

Restaurang Bo (2026)

Restaurant Bo will open in January 2026 at the address Masthamnsgatan 15 in Gothenburg. It will be a sister restaurant to Adamo and promises to be a modern neighborhood restaurant.

EXO – (June 2026)

Sweden’s highest located restaurant opens on the 69th floor of Karlatornet, named after the exosphere. In addition to top-quality food and drink, the venue also features an observation deck located 220 metres above sea level.
