Lunden

Escape the traffic and step into the green heights

The areas surrounding Redbergsplatsen are full of trees and greenery. The most well-known example is the cemetery Östra kyrkogården. This place is characterised by the hill in the middle of it, with huge grave monuments. Many prominent people from Gothenburg lie here. Locals are strolling through Östra kyrkogården daily and the cemetery is appreciated widely because of its large area and unique setting. This is an oasis where the dull sound of the traffic has to remind you where you are, in the middle of Sweden’s second city.

If you instead head west from Redbergsplatsen you will find the, somewhat hidden, park Redbergsparken. The park is situated on a big hill with one of the best views of Gothenburg. Take a walk under the tall oaks and birches and watch Liseberg in the south, the mountain Ramberget in the west, the fortresses Skansen Kronan and Skansen Lejonet as well as the two bridges to Hisingen, Götaälvbron and Älvsborgsbron.

Stumari serves Georgian cuisine.

Try food from all over the world

If you are in the mood for food you will find many options, how about Japanese, Georgian, Italian or French food? Or why not some classic Swedish food called ”husmanskost”? You truly have the option to pick anything here.

At Redbergsplatsen you will find everything you need

Will you be able to go shopping in the area? Yes, of course you can. You might not find the classical established fashion brands, but you can pick up a real bargain at the second hand shop Myrorna, or the vintage shop Evergreen Secondhand. On the road Danska vägen there are stores selling furniture, wallpapers, interior design and a tea shop, among other things.
