Summer in the Gothenburg archipelago

No summer in Gothenburg is complete without a visit to the nearby archipelago. The many islands offer unique summer experiences and activities – breathtaking views of the sea, swims from the rocky shores and world-class seafood fresh from the ocean.  Stay at one of the seaside hotels on the islands or choose a more central accommodation and easily reach the archipelago by public transport for a day trip.

Enjoy great food and drinks in the sun

Gothenburg is famous for its warm and chilled-out atmosphere, and during the summer you get the best of it at the city’s lively outdoor bars and restaurants. Summer concerts and events

The summer of 2026 brings an unbeatable season of concerts and events to Gothenburg – from major stadium shows at Ullevi with Swedish House Mafia and Luke Combs, to intimate club gigs and festivals such as Way Out West, Göteborg Brinner! and Butterfly Festival. The city will also be hosting world-class sport events, including the European Volleyball Championship, and the major youth football tournament Gothia Cup.
