Valentine’s Day trips and activities
During Valentine’s Day, it is the perfect time to treat yourself to some everyday luxury. To elevate your celebration of love, a romantic activity might just be the perfect thing!
One of the most classic Valentine’s Day-gifts to give your loved ones are delicious chocolate. Why not take it a step further this year and think outside of the chocolate box? At Storm & Bille Chokladfabrik, tastings and guided tours of the chocolate factory are held every Wednesday from 11 January to 29 March. The tour begins with a sampling of Storm & Bille’s tasty homemade hot chocolate, which is followed by a guided tour of the factory with a step-by-step account of the chocolate production process. The tour then concludes with a tasting of all their varieties of chocolate. Read more about the tour and the tasting here!
Get a taste of the West Coast winter wonder idyll on a tour of the archipelago with Kastor Boat Trips, which departs from Hönö Klåva in the northern archipelago.
Craving even more of the romantic West Coast idyll? In the southern archipelago, at the picturesque hotel Kajkanten Vrångö, they offer Kajkanten’s Cold bath package, which includes, among other things, a wood-burning sauna, hot tub, sea bathing on Kajkanten’s floating sauna, lodging in a cosy boathouse, and seafood box delivered directly from Hamnkrogen Lotsen. In other words, a true West Coast Valentine’s Day experience!
Tjolöholms slott keeps both the castle and their restaurant, Storstugan, open every day during the week of love. To put a fairy-tale-like twist on the romantic experience and get to enjoy the picturesque and cultural-historical environment to the fullest, you can book accommodation at Tjolöholm’s estate. Valentine’s Day doesn’t necessarily soley evolve around roses and chocolate. For those who are less keen on stereotypical romantic activities and more interested in insightful cultural experiences, the Gothenburg Museum of Art is hosting the special exhibition Glöm din dröm (Forget Your Dream) during Valentine’s Day. Throughout history, love and ideas surrounding it have taken different forms. In art, there are numourus examples of love, loneliness, norms, and breaking norms. The exhibition is held at 17:00 on 14 February and is included in the entrance ticket. However, there is a limited number of places, and it is therefore good to be there in good time.
