Sauna and swimming in the harbour
The sauna in the harbour Frihamnen, has won architectural awards and is a well-known landmark in Gothenburg. You can alternate sauna sessions with a dip in one of the harbour pools in the river Göta älv, both completely free and offering a unique view of central Gothenburg. The sauna and one of the saltwater pools are open year-round, but the sauna must be booked in advance via goteborg.se.

Kajkanten Vrångö – floating sauna open year-round
Kajkanten’s floating sauna raft, located in Vrångö harbour, is open all year. It features a wood-fired sauna, a hot tub and a ladder for winter or sea swimming. You can order dinner delivered directly to the raft, or bring your own food to prepare onboard.

Sauna and spa boat at Salt & Sill on Klädesholmen
The floating hotel Salt & Sill is located on the picturesque island of Klädesholmen, just off Tjörn north of Gothenburg. Moored at the hotel dock is the sauna boat S/S Silla, complete with sauna, relaxation areas and a swimming platform with ladders into the sea. When you book a sauna session, you also get access to a heated hot tub and sun deck.

Wood-fired sauna at Hällsnäs herrgård
Hällsnäs Hotel in Mölnlycke is just 20 minutes from Gothenburg, beautifully located by the lake Landvettersjön and home to the star. Just outside Gothenburg, you’ll find Nääs Fabriker, beautifully located by Lake Sävelången. Here you’ll find a bathhouse with two saunas, outdoor hot tubs and the chance to take a refreshing dip in the lake. Children aged 4–12, accompanied by an adult, are welcome at certain times (see the website for details), while children aged 13 and above are welcome at any time.

Havskatten Hönö – sauna with a sea view
Havskatten Hotel and Hostel, located on the northern side of the island Hönö, features a new, modern spa area right by the sea with a sauna and hot tub available for private hire.
