Tours in the Gothenburg archipelago
Gothenburg’s 400th anniversary is approaching and what better place to celebrate the anniversary than in the beautiful archipelago outside the city? As part of the anniversary initiative A More Accessible Archipelago, this summer M/S Kungsö will run nine anniversary tours from Stenpiren to some of the islands in the archipelago.
Each tour departs from Stenpiren at 10:00 and returns again at 15:00. The boats will be decorated with flags and there will be an exhibition about Gothenburg’s 400th anniversary on board. To make the trip extra comfortable, food is also served on the boat.
Tickets cost SEK 50 for adults, SEK 25 for children between 7-17 years and children under 6 go for free. The tickets are sold here and there are a limited number of seats per tour, so make sure to book in time! You can buy the tickets from April 18.
During the trip, there will be a guide on board who will tell you more about the archipelago and Gothenburg’s history in both Swedish and English.
On each tour, the islands will offer extra activities such as festive receptions, open restaurants, shops and attractions. Dates and activities vary from tour to tour.
In addition to these anniversary trips, the boat M/S Kungsö will continue its daily trips (not Mondays) from Stenpiren to Hönö Klåva via Eriksberg June 23 – August 13 and run an evening trip to Brännö every Thursday June 29 – August 3.
