Adventures at the Universeum science centre

The Easter break is perfect for a visit to the Universeum science centre. Here you can go on a rainforest safari, travel into space, do exciting experiments, solve clever math puzzles and learn about the human body. In the newly opened section Wisdome, Sweden’s largest visualization dome, exciting 3D films are shown for all ages.

There’s more to Gothenburg than the city centre. Go on a day trip to a castle, a fortress or a mansion just outside the city. The historic ruin Bohus Fortress opens for the season on April 8, and the premiere weekend offers, among other things, a bouncy castle, archery, and a medieval carousel! At Gunnebo House and Gardens you can walk around the beautiful grounds, enjoy a lunch made from organic igredients and sip on a cup of coffee in the spring sun.

Easter at Gothenburg’s museum

Gothenburg’s many museums have fun and creative activities during the school holidays, often inspired by the museums’ ongoing exhibitions. The newly renovated Maritime Museum & Aquarium has a new underground aquarium building twice as large as before and contains seaweed forests, fish and living corals. At the Museum of World Culture you can experience the Together exhibition, where children between 0-12 years old can play and explore with all their senses.

Welcome spring in the parks and gardens of Gothenburg

Do you like flowers and plants? Both the Garden Association and the Botanical Garden are full of life as we enter spring. The Garden association is located right by the central station and here you will find, among other things, a popular playground, the café Rosenkaféet and The Palm House where you can experience tropical heat and various exotic plants.

Gothenburg’s Botanical Garden is adjacent to the nature reserve Änggårdsbergen and you can wander here for hours. Watch spring blossom and enjoy the spring sun on the restaurant’s outdoor terrace.

Get closer to the archipelago and the ocean

The archipelago of Gothenburg is a must-visit, all year round really, but perhaps even more so now that the weather is heating up. Go and discover the archipelago with Kastor Boat trips, with different boat tours from the island of Hönö. During the spring you can go crab fishing with Hönö Boat Trips. With Ocean Bus you get to see Gothenburg from both land and water, and you get to experience the exciting splash as you enter the river Göta Älv when the bus turns into a boat. Let’s Boat offers electric rental boats that you book online and unlock with your phone. The boats can be found at Lejontrappan next to Brunnsparken and seat up to 12 people. For those of you who would rather go on a guided tour, the classic sightseeing boat Paddan usually start touring- during the Easter School Break.
