Brogyllen Hamngatan is a classic, family-owned artisan bakery and patisserie with roots in Gothenburg since 1962. The business started in the Olsson family’s cellar in Mölndal and has grown over the decades into a popular institution among Gothenburgers and visitors who value traditional pastries.

The flagship on the Västra Hamngatan street in central Gothenburg opened in 1994 and quickly became known for its interior design influenced by classic cafes in Copenhagen, Vienna and Budapest, but also for its strategic location with views of the canal and the East India House.

Brogyllen offers a wide range of sourdough bread, classic Swedish pastries, cakes and coffee bread, along with lighter dishes such as pies and sandwiches. The business combines traditional recipes with carefully selected ingredients, including flour from local mills and sourdough baked in a stone oven for optimal taste and texture.

In addition to the café on Västra Hamngatan, Brogyllen currently operates five additional stores in central Gothenburg and in Mölndal, including in Saluhallen and Pedagogen Park.
