Sustainability pervades everything at Garveriet in Floda – an old tannery by the river Säveån turned bakery, restaurant, café, shop, conference halls and more. The ingredients come from local producers and the aim is to become self-sufficient on vegetables and fish, and besides that inspire others to live and eat more sustainably. Stop here for a lunch, a Swedish “fika” – or learn something new at a “zero waste” cooking class. The train takes you from central Gothenburg to Floda in less than 30 minutes, and Garveriet is only a few minutes’ walk from the train station.

The closest neighbour, The Tannery Club, offers glamping. Simple but comfortable accomodation with a beautiful view over the river Säveån. Perfect if you want to make a stop during your hike along the trail Gotaleden.
