At Götaplatsen you will find the City Library, Gothenburg’s largest library. Here you can borrow books, films, music and magazines, play video games, read newspapers and much more. With the same library card you can both borrow and return books at all public libraries in Gothenburg.
The Gothenburg City Library is also a place for both studies and meetings. There are group rooms, computers and services for printing, copying and scanning. The building also has a café, conference room, auditorium and an exhibition hall.
The library arranges hundreds of programs every year, such as author and poetry talks, writing courses, theatre and film screenings. All events are free.
